Ashley Greene hopes her Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart's highly-publicized cheating scandal doesn't "taint" the success of the vampire franchise's final film.
Stewart confessed to an "indiscretion" with married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders in July, and the admission led to her brief break-up with her on-screen love and real-life boyfriend Robert Pattinson.
The couple fuelled rumors of a reconciliation on Halloween when it was spotted celebrating the spooky holiday together in Los Angeles, but its relationship is still up in the air and Greene worries die-hard fans won't turn out to see The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 when it hits theatres on Friday because of the drama surrounding its lead stars.
While promoting the final installment of The Twilight Saga, actors and actresses continue to be asked about Kristen Stewart cheating on Robert Pattinson, with Dakota Fanning recently sticking up for her castmate and asking:
Who are you to judge?
Now, it's Ashley Greene's turn.
Featured in the latest Seventeen, the beauty touches on the scandal and how it might affect Breaking Dawn Part 2, which opens on Friday.
"Hopefully, it won't taint it and people will still be able to enjoy the movie," Greene says, adding that "I think a lot of people see us as our characters. I really want them to still be able to do that."
Rumors are strong that Pattinson has forgiven Stewart and the two are dating again.
Will Kristen Stewart's cheating scandal spoil The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 for fans? Ashley Greene sure hopes not!
"Hopefully, it won't taint it and people will still be able to enjoy the movie," Stewart's costar tells the December/January issue of Seventeen magazine. In mid-July, Stewart, 22, was caught cheating on her on-screen and off-screen boyfriend Robert Pattinson, which devastated Twilight fans.
